Kleptomania

Kleptomania: from the Greek word, remove and mania. It consists of a disorder that does not allow control of the impulses that lead to uncontrolled or compulsive stealing objects.

The person suffering from this disorder is called kleptomaniac.

The kleptomaniac can’t control the impulse to steal items, regardless if you have economic value the object stolen. Kleptomania brings personal consequences, work, family, and legal.

Kleptomania to be an impulse control disorder is classified as a psychological addiction. At the time of stealing, kleptomaniac feel anxiety rising and after taking the object immediately relieves anxiety, which leads to negative reinforcement of behaviour, being the cause of behaviour problems.
